First problem, the start menu icon, a small white window on left of taskbar is still showing, when I place my pointer over it, it turns blue but when I click on it nothing happens, no start menu, no nothing. Any advice or suggestions other than bin Win 10 gratefully accepted.

I've binned Windows10 & reverted back to W8.1. Problems with ethernet adaptor and shutdown/sleep function.

Further problems now showing, I have not yet managed to retrieve the start menu and now the 'search' box, next to the start menu button, has ceased working. I was intending setting up a dual boot with Win7 Home Premium and Win10 but the more I looked at it the more I failed to see any benefits in switching from an operating system that ran all my programs and did what I wanted when I wanted it to. I have now rolled back to Win7, got all my programs working and would not advise anyone to switch unless they really need to, the hassle is just not worth it.
