Vista problem connecting p.c to t.v.

  acheekychappie 19:44 07 Jan 2008

I have a Dell desktop pc running on Vista home premium.
I have used the "S" vidio port to connect to another "S" vidio port on my T.V.
The sethas been tuned in to read the input from my pc.
my computor is not seeing the TV and is therefore not making the link.
Can anyone advise on how to configuire the computor to link to my tv?
thanks in anticipation

What make of graphics card do you have ? Any way of forcing detection in the supplied software for the card ?

The video card is 128MB ATi Radeon HD 2400 Pro
All I want to do is have a duel monitor, the t.v. being the second one that mirrors my computor screen

I think you will find that the S video on your PC is an input socket not an output socket.

Catalyst Control Centre / Display Options , tick the box for " Force TV Detection " see if that helps , otherwise anskyber may well be right .

There , those specs suggest that S-Video Out is available with the correct cable ( not supplied ! )
