Vista Newbie

Hi, my aunty wants a new Laptop but as an experianced XP pro user I cant recommend vista to her. Trouble is most good manufacturers are only selling vista (Want to use Dell).

Can any one recommend the best vista system for my aunty who will only ever surf the web and download the odd music track (does itunes work on vista?)

vista premium,is the favourite for home users. Vista basic is a poor XP. She will need 2GB of ram to get the best out of it. I use dell dimension E521 and have no complaints about it whatsoever. People decry vista but if you use regulary it runs good. Pretty well everything works on vista now. Just ensure that if you buy one, that vista SP1 is included. go ahead and get one, the CS has been alright for me, the odd time I have had to use after an upgrade

I use it also on a E521 and two laptops. Just get a decent processor and 2Gb ram and you will have no problems. Leaves XP in the dark ages.

2gb of ram a must for vista.
