Submitting bug reports

Just curious...

Microsoft encourages all testers to submit reports - after all that's the purpose of the testing - but is there any way to find out if those reports have even been received?

I don't expect a four-page handwritten letter but do they send something like automated acknowledgements to the more official testers?

frankly no. I think that any company you are submitting feedback to don't take your personal details and reply back because they probably get alot of feedback.

mmm, they do actually require an e-mail address with the report...

I'm not one of the official Beta testers, Connect programs etc, just one of the CPP hoi polloi.

But when you (and others) encounter a problem where Vista simply cannot boot (ordinary off-the-shelf machines), and it hasn't been resolved in builds 5536, 5600 and 5728, it is a bit worrying.

Maybe it's Toshiba's responsibilty to release updated drivers and bios, but the average buyer won't know that.
