I was hoping for something a bit special from Robert Fripp..........those new sounds are not going to tax my Creative X-Fi are they??????

They might be a little "soft" for the hard of hearing too!

  Probabilitydrive 22:55 13 Nov 2006

gugulf, I totally agree with you there, I hoped against hope its gonna be meat loaf's bat out of hell or at least van der Graaf Generator, but no...just a couple of drowning kitten sounds.....Argh, what has Fripp done to us...

Me? I hear you ask? Thats reason enough not to swithch to Vista!Period.

being as they are. Believe it or not, the vast majority of computer users can't stand noises being generated every time they click on something. If they want music they play it, and in office environments speakers are banned anyway.

Some sounds are better and others a a lot worse. The worse noises for me is the Windows Ding & Windows Error because they scared me,I think 'oh damn whats wrong now' know full well that its going to take a 2scnd's to find and a week to remove.

I was never a fan of the xp sounds and the vista one are worse,

I have the LCARS computer for my sounds as it actually says whats happening.

For the unaware the LCARS computer is the computer they use on startrek the next generation.

wolfie3000, absolutely loved your link to the sound file!
Surprised myself by how much Spock is still sloshing through my system an by how badly I still want to fight aginst this furry little spaceballs (which must have been one of the more memorable episodes..what was the name of it??)

I'm no Trekkie, but boy, are sounds not evoctive?

  keja 22:55 14 Nov 2006

I really rather likes these "Vista sounds"...

methinks, I need to stop visiting this thread.

Why? keja's link to the toon-sounds just regressed me to a bubbling 4 year old, who wants to hit my local cat with a pan over its dopey head, just to see if its (miraculously) resurrected....;-)
It worked for Jerry didn't it?
What next I ask you? Heartbeats from the first ultra sound screening?? ;-)

Nothing impresses more than a pc that talks back,
You should have seen my nieces face when i installed all the sound schemes,

LCARS for me just makes a pc even leeter :)
