I stupidly turned off my computed without finishing an update. Now I keep getting "Preparing Automatic Repair" nonsense. I have created a windows 10 USB flash drive and I am trying to repair/reinstall windows 10 through that, but I am still getting blank screen.

at what point do you get the blank screen?

easiest option is to remove the hard drive, connect it to another pc, extract all your data from it (if possible), then reformat the drive.

put it back in the origial pc and reinstall windows from the USB or DVD media
