Pre-installed W10 -- how to replace with W 7

  firegamp 15:42 12 Dec 2015

A friend recently bought a laptop with Windows 10 pre-installed. He cannot come to terms with its many "irritations" and wants to change to Windows 7. Is this possible -- and would it cost him anything?

possible may be

he'll need to buy a copy of win 7 with serial key but first needs to check that win 7 drivers are available for all the equipment in the laptop - bluetooth, wifi, Lan card, web cam, keyboard, mouse pad etc.

My friend thanks you for the advice, but is not certain whether or not he can install Win 7 without uninstalling Win 10 -- AND THEN run the two systems side by side, using the best of each for appropriate tasks. Or would there be unavoidable clashes?

With regard to myself, there is no problem. I'm perfectly happy with my Win 7 Pro -- it's like a friendly, well-trained dog........

To dual boot normally you would install 10 after 7

but partition the drive and install 7 on the new partition should work
