Hi,

All of a sudden my desktop PC cannot connect to the internet (via the ethernet port, it doesn't have wifi)

I tried successfully to connect another PC to the router, so the problem is with the specific PC.

when I try "ping 127.0.0.1" I get

Ping statistics for 127.0.0.1:

Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms

which means, as far as I know, that the network card is OK!

When I try "ipconfig /all" it seems that is doesn't get IP address

Ethernet adapter Ethernet:

Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :

Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : D8-50-E6-BD-9B-35

DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes

Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes

I re-install the drivers of the network card but nothing changed.

Do you have any ideas?

Thank you.

Start - settings - Network and Internet - Network troubleshooter

see if that helps.

Try switching the router off for 30 seconds then restarting it to see if that helps.
