My son has his own Windows laptop. Originally I had an administrator password, he had a standard account and all was well. However, the inveterate parent controls cheat, he is we have lots of fun and games trying to bypass the controls.
We're we ended up somehow is we've both got standard accounts, but neither of knows the password to the only admin account now in place, which I believe was the default admin he activated from safe mode. It is also a local account, so no password reset. I've had a nightmare trying to solve this. Tried a computer shop which couldn't solve it. Tried to order a 'password reset key' from some dodgy company, which never turned up.
So please help. I'm desperate! It's making ensuring he's doing his homework and not playing games a nightmare - can't download Qustodio controls.
In short: WHAT DO YOU DO IF YOU'VE LOST THE ADMIN PASSWORD ON A LOCAL ACCOUNT?
