Laptp can't connect to any Windows profiles

Recently my laptop has stopped allowing me to sign into any Windows profiles.

When I start it up I use a fingerprint to sign in to the laptop, which brings up my Windows profile. But it won't sign in to any Windows services such as Hotmail, or Windows Update service, or the Windows Troubleshooter. If I try it will always let me get as far as putting in my details and hitting sign in but will always throw up "This site can't be reached" or something similar. Today it also started doing the same with Netflix, and on many websites when it first loads all the formatting will be missing and text will be all over, so then I refresh, and everything works. Facebook is also almost non-functional on the laptop for some reason.

Anyone got any ideas?

open a command prompt (admin) or powershell window

type sfc /scannow

press enter and let windows scan for and replace missing or corrupt system files

when its complete restart windows (not shutdown)

see if that solves the problem.

As an addendum to Fruit Bat's suggestion.

Plug your Laptop into the Mains and be prepared to wait several hours, could be 10 or more
