Laptop has "Your Pc needs to be repaired" message

The screen popped up with a message saying that my laptop needs to be repaired. It said the boot could not startup because a file might be corrupted. It also said that I needed a repair dvd. I heard that a system repair dvd could help, but I didn't download one beforehand. Is there any way to make one for my laptop? Can I go into safemode? Will my data still be retrieved and saved? I have windows 10. It is an asus laptop, not sure what version sorry.

Turn on the pc, wait 7 seconds and turn it off again by holding the power button. Repeat this 4 or so times and a recovery screen should open with recovery options.

If that doesn't work then you can download a usb media from here, plug it in and it will hopefully boot to the usb by default. There will be a "repair" button that you can use to try some repair tools.
