IDE hard disk not partitioned correctly

  marcmejack 21:55 07 Nov 2014

My main drive is a SATA II with Win 7 32-home premium. I have a 40gb drive connected on the IDE cable.

This drive has no letter assigned to it.

Windows Disk Manager says that it is simple, basic, no file system, status = Healthy, active, recovery partition.

37Gb of which 26.7Gb is Healthy, active recovery partition.

10.9Gb unallocated.

The thing is that I cannot do anything to this drive in Disk Manager. I want to scrub it clean and start again with as much 37Gb as possible for my photos and pdf files. How do I do this?

set jumpers to master and retry.

All sorted, nothing to do with jumpers. I downloaded easeUS partition software and it was easy to wipe the disk and then repartition. Thanks anyway.
