How to permanently remove homegroup from Windows 8

I have removed the HomeGroup icon from my desktop and disabled Listener and Provider. I want to permanently remove HomeGroup from my computer altogether. How can I do this. I didn't ask for this feature to be downloaded into my computer during updates.

Moved to the Windows Help forum from Tech Helproom.

If you have disabled the Listener and Provider services then homegroup does not function at all. There is no advantage to removing the files as they remain totally inactive in the same way that many services files do.

Homegroup has been included in Windows for some years and has nothing to do with Windows Update.
