Freezing Drive on Windows Splash (Win 7, 64 bit)

Hi everyone,

Need help with a freezing drive on boot!

Long story short:

  • Desktop build Had two Sata drives, Windows 7 Professional 64bit
  • Was fine but recently lock-ups when booting up (Windows splash).
  • Tried to run boot recovery off a USB stick, froze.
  • Tried to boot into Safe Mode (any), froze.

So bought a new SSD, disconnected the previous drives. Installed Windows. All worked fine, but when hooking up the new drives - freezes at the Windows Splash.

Weird thing is that the SSD is set to first when booting. When turning off the other two drives, comes up with an error.

So now a bit stuck on what to do - really need to recover the data on the other drives! Should I order an external dock?

Obviously one of the drives - probably the windows drive) is causing boot to fail

Should I order an external dock? yes this might be the best option to plug it in after windows has booted from the SSD.

This thread is now locked and can not be replied to.
