Default programs continually being reset

It seems that every other day win 10 decides to reset the default program for reading .pdf files. I keep resetting it back to use Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, using 'Default Programs', but the next day, or day after it has changed it again to Microsoft Edge.

Is there some way to permanently save the default program to Adobe Acrobat XI Pro?

Try this. Settings - Apps - Default Apps - Choose default applications by file type (text in green) - (takes a second or so to load) scroll down to PDF then click on Microsoft Edge and Choose an application. Adobe should be in the list to select.

x13: Yes that's what I've been doing. Yesterday I also right clicked a pdf and went through the 'open with' and 'choose another app' & managed to tick the box to 'always use' adobe acrobat. It seems ok for now so maybe a two pronged approach is required. I'll keep an eye on it.
