I have a very dead Vaio and I want to know how much Data I can retrieve if I buy a usb housing and plug into another pc?
Also How can I get my Window Mail data?
Take it you never had a backup, will people never learn, sorry to be of no use but a backup of your data is very very important.I use a click free item (Amazon look it up), saves many many tears.
Assuming that it is not the hard drive that has died on the Vaio then you should be able to retrieve all your data and your Windows Mail. The Mail Is located under:
C:\Users[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local Folders
and uses the extension .eml
contacts are saved under
and are saved as a .contact file
Thanks chub_tor I will get the usb,if it is te hard drive am I stuffed? I heard it spinning up when I ran Ubuntu of a cd.
Thanks Mole44, Yeah most is backed up, but unless you back up daily you will lose some stuff.
