Just been told by AOL that my usb dsl modem wont run on my new PC which has Vista installed.

Can I use any ethenet modem or does if have to be the one they recommend , or should I consider leaving AOL and going to an ISP that provides a free router?

I dont know the difference and dont really trust AOl live chat help as they told me I could by a BT Voyager 190 from PC world and then gave me a link to Ebay.

Any help would be appreciated

It is possible. Microsoft have a hardware compatibility list which may help you. click here

Any ethernet modem will work - they don't require drivers.
