The Italian former prime Minister , Silvio Berlusconi , has been given 7 years. I wonder if, knowing the Italian court system, he will ever actually serve time?
Heading should, of course, be any, not ant!!!
No he won't but barring him from public office is a great move as there are loads of other cases pending against him so he will be in less of a position to "interfere"
... he might be let out [ of the penitentiary] after a coupla' months if he is 'multo bene' [behaves himself].
I haven't tried to understand the complexities of the Italian legal system but I was interested to hear the BBC correspondent say that, once all the convoluted procedures are complete, he is unlikely to go to jail because of his age.
Perhaps Stuart Hall should have moved to Italy.
He has an automatic appeal to go through first, I am sure this will take a long time, longer perhaps that is term on office.
