The chance of discovering life on other worlds is greater than ever, according to Britain's leading astronomer.

big 'U' turn in their philosophy!!!

Because they are now taking Dr Who more seriously...

  Quickbeam 09:15 25 Jan 2010

Does this blogosphere contain any intelligent life then?

  Seth Haniel 09:29 25 Jan 2010

think you'll find a big difference between 'Astronomers' and 'Scientists'

Overall i think its very intresting to see this story! it is basicly down to Technology getting better or advancing that has help create this story! for example 20 years ago 'Astronomers' or
'Scientists' would of only been able to view the sky's a few million miles due to there hardware restrictions whereas now they can look much much deeper! it is still very intresting why they have announced this story...Mmmm

I did a good (and very interesting) couple of hours of reading on this yesterday after I saw the BBC news article.

Suffice to say, we're no more likely to discover intelligent life now, or be discovered by intelligent life now than we were 10 years ago. Or even since December 12th 1901, for that matter.

"People who look up at the sky and say 'There must be life up there' are neither atronomers nor scientists."

But interesting people :)

I've always believed that there must be life on other planets, because when you read or hear what some people say or do then you just have to understand that they must be from another planet.

One small point, you do not have to a scientist to be an astronomer.
