What's your favourite green website?

  David Price 15:58 25 Mar 2010

Thanks to all who recommended book-review websites. The latest winner of our monthly Readers' Sites competition is mr simon, who wins a Trust speaker set.

Next month's prize is a Trust 5.1-channel surround-sound headset. To be in with a chance of winning, all you have to do is tell us your favourite 'green' website.

We're looking for anything to do with protecting the environment, living in an eco-friendly way and generally looking after the planet. Tell us why you love it, and how it helps you to help the environment.

Add your recommendations - and, most important of all, your reasons for recommending it - to this thread or email them to [email protected], and you could be the toast of Speakers' Corner this time next month.

Good luck.

It may noy be exactly what you mean, but I find click here a good site, for considering the planet. Not only does it give free help, with games, on the basic subjects which is a useful tool but donates free rice to underprivileged countries, for each correct answer. So it is a tool for learning and for helping to feed the world.

Thanks for the prize David!

I was asked to look at solutions for going greener at my old work. Unfortunately they only implemented the few ideas that would save money. This site was a good starting point: click here

I always find the Environment Agency an excellent reference point for green issues click here

There are various sections such as waste recycling, drought and wildlife conservation each of which contains a "What can I do?" sub-section with simple hints and tips. It is written in plain English and is easy to read and digest.

Freecycle as I don't like throwing anything useful away, not just as present times say we should be green, I've never liked throwing anything with a useful life left away.
