what is boabarg?

  sunnystaines 20:47 02 Aug 2014

see this strange red barg with a white oblong tower in each cornor being pull up and down the south coast by a tug.

through the bins its called boabarge25. On live shipping maps the tug appears but not the barge cannot make head to tail of google results.

Is it a dredger or some sort of training aid for new tug crew?

Off the south coast there is dredging for gravel but by any chance did you see it near Portsmouth? To get the new CVA's in they are going to have to do a lot of dredging. It may have already happened but I doubt it.
