On saturday myself and some friends decided to visit the Scottish National War Memorial in Edinburgh castle,As this was my first visit to this sacred place i didnt know what to expect, our tour guide was Col.Ian Shepherd,
To learn the history of the building and what it contains is an experience that I will never forget, But i was surprised when i asked Col.Ian Shepherd if they did a lot of school tours only to be told ,not very many,I believe every secondary school kid in Scotland should visit this place as part of their education.

what was the admission charge ??

It's a few years since I was actually in the castle - but think that the charges would put me off now

If you're ever north of Perth, near Spean Bridge, The Commando Monument is worth a stop as you race along in your cars click here

Yes indeed I think it would be a very good idea for Scottish school children to see this war memorial. It would make them realise just how much has been sacrificed by Scottish regiments in the name of an United Kingdom that was probably never as united as the soldiers were all lead to believe.
