Vision On was a ground breaking program in the 1970's.

Morph was an early Aardman Animations creation, long before Nick Park.

It's remarkable that he had a 50 year career in childrens TV. By never being fashionable he was nover out of fashion and retained his credibility with generations of children...

And you notice that apart from two BAFTA and a liftime achievement award, this gentleman of TV never received any national recognition whatsoever.

Says it all really, doesn't it? TC.

  TopCat® 17:37 18 Jan 2009

Err, that's lifetime of course! TC.

i always thought he was death and dumb, till today when then did his story on the news.

I used to love his programmes on telly when I was a kid. God knows why, I'm rubbish at drawing.

It was a pleasure to watch him though, a guy who REALLY enjoyed what he was doing rather than just doing a job.

Bit like Mark Speight and Rolf Harris really.

Well I suppose he is now, but they wouldn't have the words I would have chosen.

Great Man inspired many to do art. Always loved the gallery when they showed as well as Morph and Mick.

Many children learnt huge amouts good ideas that many others have passed onto other genrations. Even today many should be thanful for his ideas and insiration he left to many through is asrt show on the BBC God Bless him and his family.
