Things you can't put into your bin ... where do they go?

  Aitchbee 14:30 06 Feb 2014

I have noticed that many ... mostly electrical products, have a little LOGO of a garbage-wheelie-bin printed on them ... there'e a big X superimposed on the bin logo which indicates to me that these items should not be put in the household bin along with other rubbish.

Can anybody give me a pointer as to where these unwanted/broken items should go.

I reckon that a high proportion of the public will not even notice that little LOGO or obey it's well-intended meaning.

I used my local council on one occasions the charge was £30.00 to remove a replaced bathroom suite. (I fit the new one) I collected as much other rubbish as I could find and explained what there was.

They will collect large and other domestic rubbish at a cost.

Once saw the council do a full house clearance in my village.

I take used batteries to the Chemists, they have a container near the counter to put them in. I don't need to do that so often now that I've just about replaced all of them with rechargeable ones.
