Fantastic result. Trouble is that it's the tail wagging the dog. I hope it's better next test.

We struggle for a draw and it is a 'Fantastic result'!!!

Surely a 'Fantastic result' would have been a win!

Maybe if the likes of Flintoff put as much effort into their cricket as they do their night-time 'enjoyment' we might be celebrating a proper 'Fantastic result'!

It was a 'fantastic (get out of jail) result', it does make more sense:0

Cricket must be the most boring game in the world.

At any given moment there are only three people taking part.
First there is the bowler who always seems to take a much longer run up than can possibly be necessary.

Then someone gives it a bit of a whack with a block of wood.

Last of all the inevitable character with a hat who stands on the boundary for the duration, nowhere near the action, and always runs three steps whenever the ball is hit. The ball never goes anywhere near him and he spends most of his
time picking his hat up, replacing it, and walking three steps back to his position.

After all this has gone on for weeks on end the game is a draw.
The whole game is an anti-climax from start to finish.

There must be something fundamentally wrong with the rules, surely.

that you're not particularly passionate about it then...?

And the Aussies Bleat like sheep

  Quickbeam 13:34 13 Jul 2009

Welsh or Australian sheep?

  Bingalau 14:09 13 Jul 2009

I don't follow cricket but from what I have heard the England team resorted to some gamesmanship ploys (spoiling tactics?)

I would have thought that was a bit stupid because I am sure the Aussies are also quite capable of doing even worse when the opportunity presents itself, as it surely will. I for one, sincerely hope they do.

  ened 14:23 13 Jul 2009

Knowing their win-at-all-costs attitude I am certain they would have done the same or worse yesterday themselves.

I'm afrauid that is professional sport for you!

  Quickbeam 14:25 13 Jul 2009

they certainly will, and they certainly have.

Gamesmanship is and always will be part of the game.
