A significant price reduction, makes a change!

Yes, folks, my HomeBrew kit price has plummeted. When I last purchased, these were nearly £15, now down to £11.

My local shop is even cheaper

I hope this is OK to mention.

Now which category would home brew come under.

The deadly category probably.

Not knocking it as I had a few mates that used to make it but two or three pints of it was enough.

It had to be at least 2 or 3 times as strong as the pub beer.

Quite right - 12 pints and you know you've had a drink.

buteman, back in the 80's mine used to be well received and the homebrew wine. Very popular at barbecues :) There, that's brought back some good memories of summer nights.

Graham, from your link, this is my brewery of choice Woodfordes. Sadly, they only offer a saving of £1.49.

Santa Claus brought me a new crown capper this year so I need to get brewing to try it out.

Coincidentally, my wife has just read out an article in our local rag that our nearby Wetherspoons pub is having a sale. Beer at 1992 prices, for example Ruddles County for £1.29. Is the sun over the yardarm yet?

Difference between pub beer and home made beer is,Pub beer you realise that you have had enough and stop.Home brewed beer by the time you realise that you have had enough it is to late.

And then it is just a matter of trying to walk or crawl home the best way you can.

Back in the 80's I was into home-brewing.I obtained all of my sterilising materials,40 litre bin, syphon tubes, yeast, finings gel...and of course, the Tinned Beer concentrate...mostly 40pt ones, but I had a go at the 30pt kits as well...from BOOTS the Chemists.

To cut a long story short, my dad sneaked into the airing cupboard where the bottles of beer where settling down to the final clearing stage.

He only had about three bottles, but ended up having hallucinations all that night, and next morning as well.

He had been watching the fantasy film "Clash of The Titans" on TV, that afternoon...that's the one with Harry Hamlin and Medusa and The Kraken and Calibos.....and the little Golden Owl.

It was very potent stuff. (about 12% alcohol)

Then, back in the 80's, it worked out at about 20p a pint.
