Redknapp takes over at Tottenham

Juande Ramos has been sacked as manager of Tottenham Hotspur and replaced by Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp.

Are you surprised?

  The Brigadier 09:55 26 Oct 2008

Not as Spurs paid Portsmouth £5 Million for him!

are in the least bit surprised.

A terrible start for Spurs and a new manager was on the cards.

By the way, is Jamie still playing, will he be joining his dad at White Hart lane?

  Stuartli 10:45 26 Oct 2008

Jamie hasn't been playing for some time (due to injuries ending his career at the top level) - he writes regularly for the Daily Mail.

Will be interesting to see if Portsmouth's results dip now Harry's gone?

  cream. 13:51 26 Oct 2008

Stuartli. I didn't know that.

I'm slightly surprised, I was expecting Ramos to stay and from them to sack their sporting director Damien Comolli. Paying off Ramos' contract will have cost them about £15million.

i reckon pompeys results may dip after january when harry raids half of their team,i hope pompey can get over this setback though.

I just loved Harry's comment about Portsmouth not wanting to sell any of their players in the January window so they sold their manager instead.

Clubs never learn. It doesn't take a genius to see that most clubs, who keep changing managers regularily, languish in the bottom of their leagues.

I know some may mention Chelsea here but lets be honest with the quality players they have at their disposal even I could get them winning against most current Premier Teams.
