and felt quite sorry for this contestant - it clearly wasn't his night.

  bremner 17:49 02 Feb 2010

He was unfortuante.

He was last on for his specialist subject and only managed 4 points having let his nerves get the better of him.

He was then in the unfortunate position of having to immediately take his general knowledge round and was still clearly shell shocked.

  sunnystaines 17:55 02 Feb 2010

my score was 1/15 only knew the first question, better stay away from mastermind.

  GaT7 18:01 02 Feb 2010

That's not easy. Got 1/15 here too sunnystaines! 8, Asymmetric bars was the only one I knew. G

  MAJ 18:25 02 Feb 2010

I got 9/15, said 'battery' for number 13. I would argue that one, though I'm probably wrong.

  Bingalau 18:35 02 Feb 2010

I managed to get five from that lot. but in the pressure of a studio I would probably have got zilch.

  mrwoowoo 18:37 02 Feb 2010

Ok i only got 6/15 so obviously i'm not brain of Britain.
Not easy in front of a studio audience and TV cameras, where i would probably only have got one due to nerves.
I'm sure that if that contestant were asked those questions at home he would have got a lot more than 6/15.

  Toneman 18:49 02 Feb 2010

Significant words "insulating material"? I thought battery too, but obvious really...

  Seth Haniel 19:13 02 Feb 2010

But under pressure would have been lucky to get one.
