Long haul flights using mytrip.com

Has anyone used this website? My daughter and a friend are going to Auckland next February and have seen a flight Dublin-Helsinki-Hong Kong-Auckland. It's around £1770 for the two of them but there's something lurking in the back of my mind about different carriers but I can't remember quite what. If it were me, I'd probably book through a travel agent but then I'm a bit paranoid about this sort of stuff.

Any comments/advice would be appreciated.

I have no connection with them but can recommend Trailfinders for that sort of trip. May be worth comparing prices. Do check carriers to avoid long stopovers in odd places on that route.

Skyscanner is usually one of the cheapest and I have never experienced any problems using them - they show Dublin - LHR - Singapore - Auckland return for £1760 for two on Singapore Airlines, with whom I flew Auckland to London last year and they were very good.

bremner - that's handy, I don't think they spotted that one. Should they book direct with Singapore Airlines? Daughter no. 2 told daughter no. 1 to get me (mum) to check it out!

If they do get Singapore Airlines, in my experience they are the best long haul operator. Even worth a small premium. If via Singapore itself, a great stop over but if they want to not leave the airport (Changi) there is a modesty priced Transit “hotel” - a comfortable room where you can get a bit of shuteye- book in advance.

All sorted, thanks. They found a travel agent who provided exactly what they wanted, Singapore Airlines, travel from Belfast City (just down the road), excellent departure/arrival times all the way and long enough at each stop not to have to panic if there are any delays!

Bon Voyage to them . They will enjoy Singapore Airlines, I am sure.

Huh. Wish I was going too!

Singapore Airlines is one of my favourite carriers.
