Legalise Cannabis! ... ... ...

  Quickbeam 18:13 19 Jun 2018

At least that's what William Haig advocated this morning citing that the war on cannabis has been lost and that it would be safer to have the quality controlled by the government.

This of course is on the back of the new Home Secretary permitting a one off medicinal use and announcing a revue of it's medical use.

My wife takes cannabis oil as an aid to arthritis relief, we believe it to be beneficial. This needs to be properly regulated and approved for medical use but absolutely not as a recreational drug.

Much like the alcohol prohibition, it's a lost cause.

Supplied legally it would reduce crime, provide correct doseage and produce revenue for the NHS.

Could be opportune.

My GP has just stopped my painkillers because of kidney damage and some days I cam't even get to the loo now!

Yes it is, cannabis is readily available and cheap to buy and the police are not interested. Oil I am not sure about but if beneficial for medical reasons then why not let peple have it. Heroin and morphine are class A controlled drugs and illegal to sell but available on prescription so why not cannabis oil.

I'm glad I grew up in an age when ones Dealer could deliver a couple of Temple balls and one could smoke to ones hearts delight without the danger of becoming psychotic.

Also, one could dilute liquid THC with polish pure spirit, inject it into a few Sobranie Black Russians, tootle off to Cocktail Party and get high as a kite without anyone being any the wiser

It's the THC part that is illegal in UK. Cannabis oil without THC is the one you see advertised legally.

Just wonder if the legal Cannabis fields in the Uk will be a good supplier to the public. This is controlled by the government and no doubt would would probably be the next step if it is made legal.

A nice little earner for the government and those that have the contracts to sell it.

At the moment I believe it is only for export and I believe we are one of the biggest suppliers of cannabis in Europe for medical purposes.

Supply to the public maybe the next step.

We were told today by government MP that it will not be legalised in the short term. So that leaves the door open to maybe legalize it eventually.

My wife also takes cannabis oil for pain relief (severe osteo-arthritis in knees). I think the oil should be properly licensed and available on the NHS, that way it can be relied upon to be safe and the expected strength.

As for recreational cannabis, legalise it, regulate it and make it available from properly licensed and controlled outlets.

There is clearly a strong case to legalise cannabis medicinal products licenced by NICE and / or FDA.

For “recreational “ use the argument is more finely balanced . I believe use is at about 8% , which may increase with deregulation, and some say it would lead to an increase in harder drugs. Also , Skunk is said to be many times stronger . Both, in some cases can lead to behaviour changes and brain issues , as can be seen in some famous users. I suppose alcohol has the same problems so maybe we should see how it goes in Canada in the next couple of years.

Spot on Old Deuteronomy that would be the way to go.

But what happens to those that take it and drive. They are a risk to all road users so I would hope it would still be an offence under the road traffic act. or whatever act it actually comes under to use it while driving.

Mental health problems have also been linked to the smoking of Cannabis.

I am a none smoker so have never tried it and never will so i suppose I am being biased in saying it should not be allowed except if you have a medical condition that warrants the use of it.
