It does have that look about it, but the original farmhouse building looks Kentish to me.

It looks like a courtyard type building, uniform windows, no bars, so sanatorium is out of the picture.

Kinda Roman feel to it, the clock tower maybe the clue...

Having read quite a lot of the report I tend to agree with you. However, I don't think we will be able to positively identify it unless someone actually knows the place first-hand.
