I notice that all those England flags ......

which have been flying from cars and houses for the last few week have suddenly disappeared overnight.

Can I assume that they weren't being flown in support of our boys and girls in Afghanistan?

You can...

  Quickbeam 09:50 28 Jun 2010

But don't forget the Union Flag would have to be used for doing that.

So much for 'patriotism'.

Or the cross of St Andrew or the Welsh dragon ....

I heard on the radio that one chap has made a killing. He`s bought up all spare stocks in anticipation of the next attempt!!!!

One house up the road from me still has a large England flag flying on the building. The poor guy probably can't find the energy or any inclination to put up the ladder. :o) TC.

Flew the Cross of St George from the TV Aerial at the last World cup - and was still flying a piece of tatty grey stuff until about 2 weeks ago when its smart new replacement was hoisted.
How long will this one be fluttering I wonder- or will the owner take it down in shame?

"The Prime Minister's deputy official spokesman said the flag of St George which was raised above Downing Street at the start of the World Cup was replaced by the Union flag on Monday morning."
