I Hate

Stealth Tax
Speaking to a girl in a call centre somewhere in the world, after listening to 7 different options.
How nice it would be to ring my own manager as in the past.
Lack of courtesy
Lack of parental control
The idiocy of Political Correctness, what on earth can be wrong with Noddy.
Health & Safety preventing children playing normally.
Raceism in all it's forms, it works both ways!
Religious bigots.
Unfortunately I could go on, however I am sure you all have your pet hates.

bored, or something?

Hot weather.

Are you questioning my right to post a reasonable thread on Speakers Corner? or perhaps you have no pet hates.

  Mr Mistoffelees 19:13 12 May 2008

Rawprawn, isn't that rather a strong responce to the FE's question?

  rawprawn 19:16 12 May 2008

Perhaps, maybe it's the hot weather!

  Forum Editor 19:29 12 May 2008

it was a good-humoured question.

As for your 'right' to post a reasonable thread - you aren't the final arbiter of what's reasonable, and you don't have a 'right' to post anything.

Settle down, and don't be so eager to see offence where none was intended.

Has a raw spot somewhere ;-}

and as you asked, here are some of them:

1. People who say "are you sure?" when you say no thank you to an extra helping.

2. People who think that queues aren't for them.

3. People who feel compelled to put a bunch of flowers at the site of every child-killing with a card on which is written 'Why?'

4. Fish in white sauce.

5. Ivy (the plant, not a person called that)

6. Noisy TV audiences.

7. Meatloaf (the singer, not the food)

8. Knights who prefer to be addressed as 'Sir whatever'

9. People who, when told that they have a nice house/garden say 'We like it' instead of 'Thank you'.

10. Anyone who calls a rhododendron a 'rhododendrom'

11. Lifetime achievement awards.

12. Sycophants.

13. Male shop assistants who say 'yes, young man, what can I do for you? to someone old enough to be their father'

14. Despots.

15. Anyone who says he/she has a 'significant other'.

That'll do for now.

Good to see someone who has what they call 'the work/life balance' just right.
