I went for a check up at my Local GP saw a poster claiming that GP surgeries are closing down.

Is this really true or false. I not sure of the situation. May be you can enlighten on the situation.

"saw a poster claiming that GP surgeries are closing down"

A poster put up by who/which authority?

This is certainly not a general move by the NHS but may be a local slimming down exercise.

More detail needed from you, I think.

'It's probably going to be this goverments next screw up!'

Don't whinge too soon - my surgery is now what you would probably call a poly-clinic and the improvement is dramatic!

On-line access to make appointments, renew prescriptions, see details of recent blood tests etc. Virtually instant access to a variety of doctors with different skills, as well as nurses. Minor operations carried out within days rather than waiting months for a hospital appointment.

Some screw up.

No, I am not a doctor and have no connection with the health service.
