Have Amazon Changed Their Delivery Policy?

You may recall my recent thread on Sainsbury bringing in a new policy of not delivering to disabled people. Have Amazon now decided to go down the same road?

After 15 years of trouble free delivery to a designated safe place, twice within a month they have refused to do so, on the first occasion leaving it at an address unknown to me, in a different street and different postcode, and today returning the parcel and cancelling the order.

It's a development I cannot like, I am very dependent on them.

At the moment I'm going through the normal procedures first.

They are a company that seems to be doing really well in the Uk just now.

Their sales have gone up considerably but the tax they pay has gone down.

Maybe a quick drop off or pick up is what they are working at. But of course not welcome by customers like you. The more that complains the more likely for it to get sorted.

No problem with couriers. From UPS and DHL to the local Hermes guy dow the road who uses his garage they have no problem with a designated safe place.

Both these incidents have been with "Amazon Logistics".

Certain items available on Amazon.co.uk are age restricted. By placing an order for one of these items you are declaring that you are 18 years of age or over. Amazon Logistics will require a signature on delivery before completing delivery. Proof of age may also be required. It is not possible to ask Amazon Logistics to leave these items with a neighbour or in a safe-location.

Does that apply in this case?

As far as I am aware, Amazon has not changed its policy regarding safe-place deliveries, although it has always stated in its terms and conditions that it can't guarantee that its carriers will be able to meet your requirements under all circumstances.

You made much the same point in my thread about Sainsnbury.

I take it on board, but I have been getting two or tree parcels a week from Amazon for some 15 years. For this to suddenly happen, with such diverse an innocuous items as organic peanut butter (a regular purchase anyway) and a Sennheiser headphone lead, seems to indicate a redial change in policy!

Found this site, resolver , it purports to make complaining easier. I haven't used it though.

Beware. Although it uses the Amazon logo this site appears nothing to do with Amazon and appears to be a commercial dispute handling site.
