Is anybody remotely bothered that this pair of over privileged over paid nonentities have decided to remove themselves from "Royal firm" duties ?

On the plus side maybe they'll quietly vanish into obscurity and the press will have to cover something else, hopefully less irrelevant.

On the down side, having pocketed £2,500,000 for renovations to Frogmore cottage and lord known how much for Meghans ever expanding wardrobe it looks like they're welshing on a massive debt to the rest of the family that would have expected more from them.

Yes; his father’s infatuation with Camilla came close to creating a royal crisis: old Duke of Windsor was the same, so Harry is not that unusual. There seems to be a worry that in Canada , Megan and Harry could attract “ mini king and queen” status - damaging to the Commonwealth and improper is used for commercial exploitation. Interesting week or two ahead.

It must be said that against all odds Camilla has worked out rather well. From one of the most vilified women in the country to the well respected hard working Duchess of Cornwall, no mean feat all things considered.

In return, the King would receive a fixed annual payment, which was called the Civil List. With effect from 1 April 2012, the Civil List was incorporated into a new system of funding referred to as the Sovereign Grant.

Well, the results are in.

A dignified and firm response from HM.

Hopefully they will now clear off to Canada and become footnotes to history.

Their new rules of engagement, as outlined on their new Sussex Royal website, will see traditional royal reporters cast aside in favour of “specialist media”, “young up-and-coming" reporters and outlets they consider “credible”.

Translation, "Only people who massage our egos." Something they're unlikely to get in the press coverage of the coming Legal bunfight with the Mail.

One has to wonder if Harry is going to enjoy his change of status from HRH Prince Harry to Harry Markle unemployed ex royal and Meghan's trophy husband ? At the moment it looks like a case of "Be careful what you wish for as you just might get it".

He remains Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex. I hope he finds what he is looking for, I would be concerned about his mental health and hope the press soon move on.

hope the press soon move on.

Nor much chance of that now.

They'll be on the lookout for every nuance of their, the Sussexes, behaviour.

I can only conclude they are not very bright. Harry was a good soldier, liked by the armed forces. Among other duties he took over the role of Captain General of the Royal Marines from his grandfather, who held it for over 60 years - the RM’s will be very annoyed. His obsession with his new life and his and Megan’s hard done by attitude is shocking. How can he use Sussex Royal as a brand if he is leaving the Royal family? Either you’re in or out. I wish them well but I suspect it will not last for ever.

They will be stupid to continue their court case against the Mail , who will bring her father as a witness

They are being programmed by a US PR company

To be fair, when the press revealed that he was in Afghanistan they restricted his military career to such an extent that he became a cipher, and that would never do for him. He's hands on.

So far as the court case goes, I believe the Mail will be under tremendous pressure to make a "no liability" out of court settlement.
