Goodbye to the Diddy Men. No more tickling stick!

R.I.P. Ken Dodd. An entertainer who amused many for a very long time. Maybe his humour doesn't fit into the modern idea of funny but it certainly appealed to me.

And he finally got married two days ago.

A very funny and clever man he taylored his jokes to suit the area /audience. He was still doing shows in his eighties.

I think he was something of a favorite to us all. One of the few who could please everyone with his idea of comedy.

Goodbye to the Diddy Men

Surely not. These are real people, albeit smaller than most. Who would work in the jam butty mines if they went?

"I think he was something of a favorite to us all."

I must be the one exception, then.

I went to a couple of Ken Dodd shows in Plymouth, the first was a matinee where the Diddy Men entranced my kids. The second was an evening show which started at 8.00pm and continued until 12.15am when the theatre managed finally pulled the plug on the lighting and forced the end of the show, Ken Dodd apologised as he really wanted to continue. The only reason I was happy to leave the venue was to relieve the pain in my side from so much laughter, Ken Dodd was more a rib breaker than a rib tickler. Loved the man and his humour and I will miss hearing him. RIP Doddy.

Good clean fun. One of the last great funny men?

Much better than some of the foul mouth attemted comedians of today.

RIP Ken. Thanks for the laughs.
