I would like to know what the Argentine Peso will buy.
Frantic Googling has given exchange rates and such so i know how many Pesos to the £/$ but what is it worth in cups of coffee/steaks/taxis

Hey Ed. have you been there?

One-litre bottle of mineral water: $1.20
500ml bottle of beer: $3
Financial Times newspaper: Not available
36-exposure colour film: $10
City-centre bus ticket: $0.75/$0.80
Adult football ticket: From $10
Three-course meal with wine/beer: From $16

1 Argentine Peso ($1) = £0.20; US$0.35; C$0.48; A$0.48; €0.29 does this help

Cost of living: The currency in Argentina is the Peso and at the time of writing the cost of living is very cheap. Can of coke costs: 1.5 pesos /30 pence, One Bus trip costs: 80 centavos /15 pence, One Subway trip costs: 70 Centavos / 13 pence, A Taxi journey across the city costs: 7-10 pesos / £1.36 - £2.00, Lunch in a café with drink costs: 8 - 10 pesos/ £1.50 - £2.00, Evening meal costs: 8 – 12 pesos/ £2.00 - £2.30.
There are approximately 3 Pesos to the US dollar, and 5 Pesos to £1 Sterling.

I have, but apart from massive steaks I have to say I found it a less than memorable trip. I was working and didn't have any time for sightseeing.

If you are not travel savvy--Use US$ travel cheques or US$ dollars. Make life easier in that part of the world, especially if the £pound as hiccups.
