Fuel warning if you`re going to France

I have just returned from France and notice an new petrol on sale; its called E10. Not knowing about this, (despite it being cheaper),I decided to stick with the usual 95 sans plomb.

I have now read a warning about this that applies to older cars. It contains 10% ethanol, and reminded me of Cleveland Discol sold here in the 1960`s. Perhaps older members may recall it.

Interesting this, I recall 'Discol', did that corode tanks as well I wonder? I didnt even know ethanol was corrosive, surprising. So, what will pre-2000 cars do in 2013? More scrappage!

of a perfectly good car in excellent condition for an absolute giveaway price because it wouldnt run on unleaded fuel and I couldnt at the time afford the conversion costs after 4 star was purportedly beeing stopped.

Similar situation perhaps?
