What is it?

You get £10 worth of Wi-fi use at 6,000 hotspots around the country. The wi-fi use is charged at 10p/min so this should give you 1 hour 40 minutes worth.

Its called the credEcard, but don't worry about the name or the fact it's a card, really it's just a piece of card with instructions on to give you a code, there's no actual technology with it.

How to get it?

It comes free with a number of computer magazines. These are usually priced around £4, but Mobile Computer costs only £1.90 (so it could be argued, they're not free, but you get the point!). They are the following:

* Mobile Computer Out Now located Inside magazine
* Computer Shopper out 20th July 2006 Taped to cover
* PC Pro 20th July 2006 Taped to cover
* Computer Buyer 20th July 2006 Taped to cover
* Mac User 4th Aug 2006 Taped to cover

What you do with it?

If you have wi-fi on your laptop, as most modern laptops do you can use it at 6,000 locations around the UK. Once your laptop "finds the network" you connect through and enter your specific code and you're connected up.

Why's it doing this?

Well freebies are common with Computer magazines anyway, just try to find one that doesn't come with a 'free DVD'! Yet credEcards aim is simple, they want you to try the product, find it really useful then subscribe to buy more minutes.

Luckily once you run out of minutes there's no auto-subscribe, so if you choose to, you can simply use the minutes then forget it.
