Free way of sending Files up to 1GB

BBC World suggested using a disposable email account such as a Hotmail one for the recipient for added security. Then you access your disposable account, copy the link and mail this link to whoever you want to send the file.

I hope the above makes sense.

why not compress the 1gb file shove it on a CD-R or a CD-RW and send it throught the post?.i wouldn't like to upload/download.cheers.ben

So needs no special accounts.

This earlier thread suggested some other methods: click here such as MS Messenger and Yahoo Messenger services.

My vote would be for burning to a CD for more than 50 or 100 Mbytes of data. You can test that the data is intact before posting it, and the recipient has a backup to keep. Remember, uploading is about half the speed of downloading. Sending 500 Mbytes would tie up your internet connection for a long time even on broadband.
