Forums will be offline for hour Thursday morning

As part of our commitment to compliance with the new EU GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) we are deleting the accounts of all registered forum users who have not contributed for over three years. These people's posts will not be deleted, just the accounts and names on the forum pages. All email associations for those users will also be removed.

By its nature, this will affect only much older threads, so shouldn't be noticed to any great extent.

This does not affect anyone's ability to read the forum, and anyone whose account is deleted can register a new account to begin contributing to the forums again.

As part of this process, we need to take the forums offline tomorrow morning for around an hour (9:30 to 10:30 BST).

For more on GDPR, read this IDG article from CSO and watch the video.

Don't forget - we'll shortly go offline for an hour.

See you on the other side.
