Do you remember when ...

  VoG II 18:07 25 Dec 2004

Windows were things you looked out of.

Ram was the cousin of a goat.

A virus was the flu.

The web was where a spider lived.

An application was for employment.

A program was a TV show.

A cursor used profanity.

A keyboard was a piano.

Memory was something that you lost with age.

Hard drive was a long trip on the road.

A mouse pad was where a mouse lived.

If you had a 3½ inch floppy, you hoped nobody found out.

If you unzipped anything in public, you’d be arrested.

Yes unfortunately :-(

Bugs were insects.
Burning was just for arsonists.
Cookies were for eating.
The worst crashes were those in cars.
Folders were file wallets.
Icons were idols.
A patch was a plot of land.
A platform was a stage.
A port was a harbour.
A shortcut was the quicker route to school.
Spam came in tins.
You needed a board to surf.
A wizard did magic.

I remember.....

when rock was young

Me and Linux had so much fun

swapping files and hidden code

had an old gold Chenbro as my abode

But the biggest kick I ever got

was getting a thing called an AsRock

while the other kids were winding up the clock

we were hopping and bopping with that AsRock

But the years went by and the AsRock died

Linux went and left us for some foreign Ide

Long nights crying by the copy machine

Dreaming of my Chenbro and my old crt screen

But they'll never wipe the memory we've got

of burning cds with that AsRock

learning fast as the weeks went past

We really thought that AsRock would last

Well, AsRockin

is something shocking

when your temps just can't keep still

I never had me a better time online

and I guess I never will

Oh, Lawdy Mama, those Friday nights

when PC Advisor kept it right

and the old AsRock was-a R R R R Rocking out of sight ..

Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.
