On a serious note, I was invited to undergo a similar new procedure to check out my innards [for unusual polyps] as a 'follow-up' to the routine test one does at home. After careful consideration, reluctantly, I felt I had to decline their offer.
Administering an enema at home [in the morning] and then catching 2 buses to get to the hospital on the outskirts of town [to do the test] was not on!
I accepted, my uncle spent months in hospital with bowel cancer so a genetic link suggested accepting the offer was advisable. The thing about bowel polyps is that they aren't entirely sure of what causes them or why some benign ones go malignant.
Anyhow there's no comparison between having having polyps removed and having major bowel surgery and as the one can prevent the other, wasn't too hard a decision.
Seems in the USA they konk you out before the procedure, what a bunch of wusses.
