My sister [aged 67] got £25 pounds because of the low temperatures over the past few days up here in bonnie Scotland. Anybody else?

I had to change my short sleeve t shirt to a long sleeved shirt when the temp ducked to under freezing. Can I have £25?

geoff96, you can claim only if you have donned your JL's in sympathy.

You’ll get a payment of £25 for each 7 day period of very cold weather between 1 November and 31 March.

Govan1x, yes she's on benefits but it's the first time she has received this award. As she lives in Glasgow this will apply to thousands on similar benefits. A very good thing especially if you need to turn up the dials to heat up a room over a week.

Must admit it will come in handy in this weather. I think i get about £2 a week above the cost of claiming for benefits so have to pay for dental treatment etc. So wont be getting the £25 cold weather payment. Could do with it mind you cant stand the cold the older you get the colder it seems to get.

Would love to go away for the winter and come back in the better weather. But that is never going to happen.

It's no good, I shall have to put our heating on ;o}}
