Cheltenham - 'the race is on' to beat the cold weather snap.

  Aitchbee 19:46 11 Mar 2013

I do hope that the racecourse is fit for purpose for the first race ... and for the rest of the week.

I didn't realise that they covered the whole track with 'frost protection' tarpaulin - it must've taken many hours of hard work, to lay down an area euivalent to that of '45 football pitches'.

Please feel free to comment. [and post any 'tips' of potential winners ;o)]

They could always have a 45 game football bonanza if the horses get burgered:)

They should fit the horses with rubber shoes.

Comments are fine, but we'll leave the tips out of the equation, I think.

Sorry to go against the FE's request but I have a tip for how to be a winner.

Don't put your hand in your pocket.

I see that, in spite of all their efforts, there is to be an inspection at 1030 because some small areas are frozen.

That must create the chance of people either not going or delaying their departure until they hear the outcome. Either way, that means fewer punter hours on the course and that means lower income for the day.

The old yellow snow tip seems quite apt for this meeting.
