Car Tax Disc

You can throw it away now. I was amused to see so many tax disc holders on Ebay.

Will evasion increase, I wonder. I don't know how many cameras are geared up with the number-plate recognition software.

"Will evasion increase, I wonder."

Police and the DVLA think it will decrease. Number-plate recognition cameras are widespread - they are on every motorway that has average speed checks, fo instance, and on many petrol station forecourts.

In addition, all Police services have mobile recognition units, and I imagine they are being fitted in lots of patrol cars.

How will they check the registration of mobility scooters?

I don't have to display a number plate (though I do have a number), but like "Disabled " class cars which also don't pay tax, I do have a a logbook and I do have to renew annually.

How will the police and authorities check?

"How will the police and authorities check?"

Possibly by using more electronics. because foot soldier's on the ground are becoming more rare :O)

Don't see how at the moment.

Mobility scooters bear no identification marks, except, up until now, the tax disc, which normally showed a "Q" number.

My thoughts jockie, as if we don't have enough of it at the moment:-)
