He had been in custody since February 2001, when he was picked up at Heathrow airport attempting to board a flight to Saudi Arabia with a false passport.

Why not let him go to Saudi on his false passport,then refuse him entry back into the UK? Would've saved the cost of his 7yr imprisonment.

Whats all the hue and cry, if you had but noticed, this person as the "strictest bail conditions possible". On that basis of security, I won't lose any sleep tonight :O(

I notice that open prisons lose their customers, is bail more secure then?

Of coarse bail is more secure than an open prison, don't forget he has to attend at a police station every so often and say I'm here.

And more importantly while out of jail he can claim all his benefits.
