How disappointing. For a minute I thought Ol' Satch had risen...

So did I!

Any cycling fans out there?

Apparently not!

Yes me. In fact a regular sportive rider.

Which team (Astana?) he goes for will be interesting. The move is brave and will reignite interest from the cycling folks, certainly mine.

Win the Tour? well I think he could.

I watched the Tour with great interest in the past.

I hope he revives the 2009 Tour because it has need of his talents.

I find it difficult to envisage him riding in the middle, or at the back, of the peleton and a comeback at his age will be mindbogglingly difficult

Great cyclist though he was and fine though his motive is, I think he is too old and too long away from the top level of the sport. But I'll be damned impressed if he can pull it off.

It would be a great achievement if he could come back and win but the real benefits will go to the cancer cause. All power to his legs!!
