YouTube downloads

Up until a few weeks ago I could download videos from YouTube using DVDVideosoft and keep them on my hard drive to play off-line. Now nothing will download, the message is always the same " the url does not contain any video" does anyone know why this should be?Have YouTube done something to stop downloads?

I'm running Vista HP with IE8 - I now think that IE8 may be the problem as it has caused problems with other regular sites like banking etc

I have both Save2PC and DownloadHelper on my system.

The Add-ons for Firefox page for the latter utility has posted this message on the site:

IMPORTANT: Since yesterday (August 17th), another change (different from the one on August 13th) in YouTube servers has made DownloadHelper unable to detect and capture files other than standard FLV, in particular MP4 format cannot be retrieved.

We have submitted a fix (version 4.6.2) to Until this version is made public, you can install it from click here
